About Bohemian Pearl
Erin Singleton is the artist behind Bohemian Pearl. Erin is a mixed media artist with a penchant for nostalgia who often references pop culture from the 1930s – 60s in a body of work that comprises of art and craft. She takes a keen interest in history and the ways in which modern culture has evolved, especially since World War II. She uses a diverse range of media – wood, paint, found objects – and printing techniques to create collages and assemblages which celebrate discarded and forgotten relics of the past. Using a special transfer printing technique, Erin also creates wall art in which pin-up girls and suburban housewives take center stage; these vintage-styled wall hangings make a playful statement about the role these women played in society as they fought for equality during a time of great social upheaval and political unrest.
